The three childrens’ hospitals in Dublin today announced new precautionary measures in relation to visiting patients in their hospitals.

Due to the number of in-patient cases suffering from H1N1 Swine Flu Virus they have restricted visiting to parents and/or guardians only.

In Ireland last week there were 30,000 suspected new cases throughout the population. It is also week 1 of the roll-out of the Swine Flu vaccine. This is being handled by General Practitioners and by Health Service clinics. The first phase of this vaccination is targeted at people who are at risk e.g people with lung disease, heart disease etc.
