'Swine Flu Party' A Bad Idea: Um, You Think?
Richard Besser, the head of the U.S. CDC, in his infinite wisdom, is warning that having a "swine flu party" to get the A(H1N1) flu virus as a dubious form of protection against a future strain is, well, "a bad idea".
It's amazing that that senior American health officials have to issue public statements against this kind of thing.
Surely, the 3,000 reported cases of H1N1 infection and, more importantly, the 44 deaths from the disease should be enough of an indicator.
Cancel plans for that "swine flu party": a top US health official says deliberately trying to get infected with the A(H1N1) flu virus as protection against a future more virulent strain is a bad idea.
Having "swine flu party" is "a big mistake," said Richard Besser, the acting head of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Well, at least the acting head of the CDC gave his logic and reasoning when declaring it a bad idea (ipso facto).
