Sometimes sanity just does not seem enough.....

You might get the full wrath of the Sherrif of Nottingham if you take the advice of official looking signs that tell residents it is legal to urinate in public places around town.

The signs, which look official, display a toilet signs and declare: “Public Urination Permitted After 7.30pm”.

There is a mad rush to remove signs as fast as they are being put up.

There is also a notice, with the council’s logo, telling people that the scheme is aimed at reducing the mess faced by residents outside their homes.

But council is not impressed, even if it is a good idea: “It is an offence to urinate in public and these signs have been put up illegally, for whatever reason.
