Three year old may have contracted HIV at Doctors Office

Three year old Hailey Rodriguez apparantly managed to get into the sharps container whilst at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, her parents had taken three year old hailey there after they had noticed a minor skin rash.

Now her parents must wait months and subject Hailey to a barrage of drugs in case she has contracted HIV or Hepatitis.

“She had blood on her stomach and blood on her hand,” Maklad said. “I asked my daughter what happened, and she walked me over to the bin.”

Susan Karten, lawyer for Hailey's mother said her client will most likely sue the hospital.

Montefiore Medical Center is a 1,303-bed general medical and surgical facility. The latest data show it has 75,570 admissions and performs 13,558 inpatient and 11,498 outpatient surgeries. Its emergency room has 255,689 visits. Located in Bronx, NY, it is accredited by the Joint Commission. It is also a teaching hospital.
