Public acceptance of pot is at an all-time high, and the fact that women have drastically changed their attitudes may be what is most fascinating about the sea change in public opinion -- and policy -- regarding marijuana.
TruthOut.org released an article entitled, The Secret to Legal Marijuana? Women. In the article is discussed how North American pot views may finally have a chance to be swayed by the pot smoking moms of the nation and the world.
If pro-weed women are a new momentum behind the normalization of marijuana, they may also become the driving force behind game-changing drug reform.
The largest force driving these women to finally speak their peace is the controversial medicinal purposes of this natural substance. Since the Temperance movement in the 20's this 'drug' that was once widely used for its many purposes including medicinal usages, hemp rope and clothes has been wrongly accused over and over as a culprit in the war on illegal drugs.
Some feel that pot, marijuana, hemp, or whatever you may want to call it, could be the wonder drug and wonder substance of the next century. Think of the millions and trillions the pharmaceutical companies would loose out on ever year though, when the depression ridden people of the world and those suffering from most any type of pain realize that smoking a spliff will relax them much better then the pills they have to pop everyday!
This is not to say, in any way, that some medicines are not extremely necessary or that there is not an eminence of negative side effects to 'smoking' pot or any other substance, for that matter. However, with the many different ways in which the positive affects of the medicinal purposes of this plant can be extracted, no one says you have smoke it...
