As Alan Johnson (Health Secretary ) continues emergency talks with the Chief Medical Officer Liam Donaldson and The World Health Organisation raises its alert status to Level Four, there are moves afoot to calm the fears of the public.
Leaflets about the swine flu outbreak and how to prevent its spread are to be delivered to every UK household.
The Department of Health is also urgently looking at increasing stockpiles of masks, most likely for issue to health professionals.
The results of swine flu tests on 23 people in Scotland are expected later. A Falkirk couple, who recently returned from Mexico, are the UK's first cases.

It's the British way: chuck a leaflet in the mail box while avoiding doing anything of substance. When stats came out that British children's teeth were far worse after ten years of Labour government, they chucked a leaf let through the mail box. But they didn't do a thing about the fact most people can't get a dentists.

Mind you if there really is a serious threat to health, information is pretty important, as so far the general public seem to have a poor grasp of this problem. Listening to radio phone ins and reading the BBC Have Your Say ,some people are showing complete ignorance.....ranging from vegetarians gloating because they think the virus is spread in the meat to some guy saying he'll be ok because he washes his hands with anti-bacterial stuff..."oh you mean a virus is different to a bacteria?"
