Undeclared Milk In Chocolate Almonds

Sunridge Farms is voluntarily recalling its organic dark chocolate almonds from the market because of undeclared milk content. For those who are sensitive or allergic to dairy, digestive upset or illness may result if consumed. 

OTTAWA, December 4, 2008 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and DMR Food Corporation are warning people with allergies to milk not to consume SunRidge Farms Organic Dark Chocolate Almonds. The affected product contains milk which is not declared on the label.

The affected product, SunRidge Farms Organic Dark Chocolate Almonds are sold in 205 g packages, bearing UPC 6 28997 06960 4. All lot codes are affected. This product has been distributed in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.

The importer, DMR Food Corporation, Vaughan, Ontario, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
