The untouchable Leprosy Patients by sadashivan

My visit to leprosy home run by Mother Teressa missionary and followers. This home has about 300 such patients taken care by sisters. These photos are to explain the pain and sacrifice of the missionary and the sisters for these patients.

Most such patients live in disastrous poor conditions in other parts of the country and their survival is by begging in the streets. As per sister in the missionary there are roughly 150000 patients in India alone.  As they are untouchable in many societies they become neglected lot.

WHO estimates 212,802 leprosy patients in 2008

Thanks to mother Teressa home and the sisters
