UCLA Reporter on Kirby Wilbur Show - Part 2
Charlotte, NC -- A new video appears to show staff at a Planned Parenthood abortion center in North Carolina covering up an incident of statutory rape. Students for Life of America released the video that includes a college student pretending to be an underage girl who is a sexual assault victim.

This is appalling - and that it is happening in various Planned Parenthood locations is even worse.  Looks like their staff needs a refresher on proper counseling and state laws.

More details about this particular case:

In June, a college student talked with staff at the Charlotte Planned Parenthood center posing as a 15 year-old girl who had unprotected sex with her 30-year-old mother's live-in boyfriend. The student tells Planned Parenthood officials the boyfriend suggested she go there to obtain the morning after pill.

SFLA tells LifeNews.com that that information alone is enough to trigger North Carolina statutory rape reporting laws, obligating any person who learned of this story to report the crime to authorities.

Planned Parenthood staffers acknowledged the girl was a victim of statutory rape and admitted they were required to report the incident.

"Well legally though, it's illegal. It's statutory rape," a Planned Parenthood official tells the student.

Officials at the abortion business never follow up on the statutory rape question when the girl says her ride is leaving and needs to make an appointment. They then remind the girl that her mother's boyfriend can purchase the Plan B drug at a local drug store since she is under 18.

Especially troubling as the Planned Parenthood staff suggested ways in which the girl could 'cover up' the crime by suggesting she have her abuser buy her birth control or the morning after pill.

What does  Planned Parenthood say to does allegations and is there some other news showing the other side or maybe keeping it balanced and remaining neutral. Since all the reports come from life news I wonder if they may not be some bias here.

There have been multiple investigations into Planned Parenthood practices - see the videos attached to this story on an investigation in LA that took place last year and made big news at the time.  I am not biased against PP - I am 100% behind a woman's right to choose and protecting our right to obtain an abortion - but the video speaks for itself.

If this story was blatantly promoted by pro-lifers I would also be hesitant to take it at face value, but in this case the real issue is the failure of PP staff to report abuse and statutory rape to authorities.

Has there been a court case? Any formal news reports in the media? Has there been an investigation by the authorities? I am asking since I do not know, Yet I am very careful not to Judge based on a Video, that can be Doctored or a single news source that in this case is pro life. I am not taking sides nor judging, I am simply trying to find out if this news is news and real or just a defamation campaign of sorts.

Good points.  In recent news, there is a court case for an incident that took place in Ohio where a 14 year old girl obtained an abortion, and her parents are suing Planned Parenthood for unspecified damages because they did not give consent.  So far as I can tell, authorities haven't stepped in with their own charges in any case against Planned Parenthood, and most of the lawsuits are being filed or represented by pro-life organizations.  Planned Parenthood hasn't claimed in any of the video cases that the content has been doctored - they threatened to sue Lila Rose for privacy violations.  But I do see the glaring opportunity for pro-life groups to use this material to push their agendas.  I just think PP staff should be educated on how to properly counsel minors.

THe court case does not have any thing to do with rape though. They helped a Teen in trouble and keept it from the parents for a good reason maybe...

I do not think it is so easy to paint it black or white, good or bad...

I think this needs an objective and well balanced as well as well researched post or Article.

Since it is a delicate issue and especially since it does concern a help centre and some of the most vulnerable members of our society.

Whether one may be pro Life or Pro Choice here should not be put in the equation, that is a different matter all together.
