Could this be the world's most fattening burger?

A burger containing 4,800 calories has launched in the US - this is double the recommended daily amount in one food item.

The burger has five beef patties, five cheese slices, fries, chilli, sour cream, salsa and a pound of dough that goes in to the bun. Of course it has a few slices of lettuce and a few slices of tomato.

It is being sold as the Fifth Third baseball park in Michigan, where the West Michigan Whitecaps play, and anyone who can finish it will get a free t-shirt.

"Besides being unique and large and bizarre, it tastes good," Scott Lane, Whitecaps president, told the Grand Rapids News.

"I'm sure there are going to be crazies that come down and try to eat the entire thing."

The nutritional value of the 'snack'
300 grams of fat, 744 milligrams of cholesterol and over 10,000 milligrams of sodium.
