Worldview Panic and Barack Obama
There are no more vicious reactions than is found in people who are seeing their worldview being threatened. When one believes that only Christian nuclear families can produce successful people, a person who does not come from a Christian nuclear family who becomes successful becomes a refutation of their worldview. And this attracts extremely vicious reactions, all the way to believing the person to be Antichrist.
Barack Obama was raised by a single atheist mother. And now, as President of the United States of America, he is the most successful person in the world. The people who think that only Christian nuclear families can produce successful people are vastly threatened by the success of Barack Obama. And they well should be: It is a refutation of their worldview.
For this reason we see Obama being compared to Hitler or called the Antichrist. Instead he is a great man who overcame vast disadvantages to become the President of the United States. Given what he has been faced with, there is every reason to hold him in high esteem. Not just because he is the President of the United States; but also because of what he has had to fight in order to become one.
The violation or refutation of one's worldview results in what I call the worldview panic. One believes the world to be one way, so what can be more threatening than finding out that it is not. And the first reaction is to attack what is causing this worldview panic and to destroy, as much as one can, what challenges one's worldview.
This has been done most obviously with respect to President Obama; but it is done all the time everywhere. When someone who's thought of as a freak becomes successful, all hell breaks loose. When someone from a group seen to be losers becomes successful, more so. And then the people practicing the fallacious worldview unleash their hatred of these people: Whether these people be black, Jewish, different from their neighbors, or anyone else who is not one of them.
This means the following. The more people who are not part of such groups do well, the better it is for the country and the better it is for society. The lie that only one group has monopoly on success and accomplishment gets punctured, and the world through that is improved. A cartel gets broken, and competition is opened for other people and other entities. And through this the competitive dynamic is initiated that leads everyone to do and to be their best.
This means also this. The more aggressive the practicioners of the fallacious worldview are in their panic, the greater the evidence of something better existing and doing its best. So whenever we see people fall over themselves in a worldview panic, what we are seeing is something better blossoming in face of their oppression.
And that is good for everyone.
