Your office may be killing you

THIS could be any office in Britain – but working here could kill you, scientists warned this week.
A desk job may seem like a safer option than toiling in construction.
But long stints at the computer or poring over paperwork DOUBLES the risk of you getting a lethal blood clot.
You’re in danger if you work at a desk for eight hours a day, and spend three successive hours or more sitting down.
If you put in a marathon 12-hour day you only need to remain seated for 60 minutes to be in peril. And each extra hour stuck at a desk raises the chance of a clot by another 20 per cent.

sweet east pearl, I like this story. It's good stuff.
I think it is very true, not to mention the many cases of depression if you are stuck in an office job and often, it is 'souless' and creative people in these jobs often don't use their skills which causes extra frustration for them. Smokers often get a chance to 'get out of the office', relax and chat and have some fresh air but non smokers (unless they sneak in and join the smoking crowd) have to continue being stuck behind their desk. Business is made for people to 'work like robots' and only good companies think about giving their employees some 'fun'. Often you get 'told off' for chatting but a few minutes of relaxation I think is good to prevent long term stress.
