The link below contains information about the latest warning on one of the cholosterol drugs. Zocor.  There have been so many warnings put out on these drugs (statins), it makes one wonder if they do any good for anyone who has high cholosterol.

I was on a cholosterol lowering called Baycol for years when I heard on the news that approximately fifty people had died from the drug.  When I confronted my doctor with this information, she said she was unaware of the deaths.  When I refused to take it any longer she put me on another statin.  They kept it (Baycol) on the market for years after this incident and then quietly removed it from the market. 

So be advised to check out any perscriptions your doctors give you and check them out thoroughly and ask your pharmacist. They know more about the drugs than the doctors do.
