Heat Wave Dims Times Square

As high temperatures along the East Coast created record demand for electricity today, special precautions to protect the power grid in New York City left some recognizable icons a bit darker.

Times Square dimmed some of its lights and was missing its stock market ticker, when the normally blinking lights went out at the Nasdaq building. ABC News was also asked to turn off its news ticker.
