On December 11, 2005, at 8:00 P.M, the greatest college player of the year will be awarded the Heisman Trophy. The nominees are Vince Young (University of Texas), Reggie Bush ( University of Southern California), and Matt Leinart (USC). The most likely candidate at the moment is Reggie Bush with his record breaking performance at Fresno State while gaining an overall yardage of 500 yards.  Matt Leinart will try to become the first player since Archie Griffin to win the trophy twice. Also, Vince Young, who led  UT to a perfect season and a trip to the Rose Bowl will try to win his first Heisman Trophy in his junior year. Reggie Bush has already won the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, rewarded to the greatest college player of the year. Though, the Heisman Trophy is rewarded to the most outstanding college player, not the most valuable. Vince Young who 4 weeks ago was the projected Heisman Trophy winner is thought to have blown his chances at the game against Texas A&M with his mediocre performance. Although he did win the Davey O'Brein Award, an award for the nation's top quaterback. Matt Leinart may have posted greater number years this year than last, but his teammate has had the most flashiest performances in many games, and is the cause for USC's success.
