An interesting correction in The New Mexican...

The New Mexican published a story on the front page Saturday about the efforts of Harlyn Geronimo, great-grandson of the Apache warrior, to recover his famous ancestor's bones from the Skull and Bones society at Yale University. In the photo caption, the paper described the 19th century Geronimo as "infamous." Among Mexicans and settlers of that time, he undoubtedly was infamous. But among Apaches, he represented the values of aggressiveness and courage. The New Mexican regrets using such a pejorative word in this context.
