This one took me by surprise, as most of my friends were talking about the return of this critically-acclaimed show; indeed, I knew it was back on the air without even checking a TV listing. Perhaps this has to do with pulling a very popular show for several weeks before returning with new episodes-- is the series running out of steam?

"Heroes" received an underwhelming welcome when the fading freshman returned to NBC's schedule after a seven-week absence Monday.

The drama, which had been one of the network's few new hits this season, pulled in 12 million viewers and a 5.3 rating, 13 share among adults 18-49, according to preliminary data released Tuesday by Nielsen Media Research -- enough to make it the night's top show in the coveted demographic.
