Sunday evening, Roser took a break from her studies and invited us over for dinner. She'd visited her 90-year-old grandmother earlier that day, who, in a manner typical of many a Mediterranean grandmother, cooked for days in anticipation of Roser's visit. Will and I were the very lucky beneficiaries of the leftovers: meat-stuffed cannelloni and a rabbit stew similar to cacciatore. Roser grilled some peppers, Will made a salad, I opened some wine, and we feasted on the terrace to the sound of thunder and rain on the canvas covering overhead. A wonderful, memorable, very lovely evening. One of my favorites of the trip!
