Home Depot Tunes in for the Holidays

The Home Depot is churning a new mix of merchandise for the 2006 holiday season.

For the first time, the chain is offering HD plasma TVs, DVD players and other consumer electronics in stores. (Select electronics have been available through the chain's catalogs and web site in the past.) The eight available SKUs are getting front-end placement via endcaps and wil be available only through the holiday season, according to a spokesperson. The chain has not disclosed future plans for the category, the spokesperson said.
