If house prices were not high enough, the government wants to add more to the cost with Home information packs (HIP), due to come out on 1st June 2007. The cost will be added to the asking price.

Luckily there is an intelligent and capable housing industry that do not approve of this ludicrous waste of money. and high court injunctions are making the government delay the introduction.

Energy certificates are a good idea but the remainder of the HIP is already covered by surveys and searches.

The introduction of controversial Home Information Packs is set to be delayed by Communities Secretary Ruth Kelly until August.
