I was a bit surprised to find this conservation meetup in Canada's energy-capitalist capital. And yet here they are with 20 members and meeting next May 2.

Here's a purely journalistic question: how many meetups like this are there in North America? and one more: are they having an impact?

There is usually a guest speaker and presentation each month.

The Chinook Group of the Sierra Club of Canada meets the first Wednesday of every month, except July and August.

There will be lots of Sierra Club folks there, in addition to people from this Meetup group.
