The teenager who made a gun gesture at UK Tory leader David Cameron has been arrested for possession of marijuana, reports the BBC.  (we still do not have a photo of the gesture, btw).

"The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons,
pleaded guilty to possessing £5-worth of cannabis following a police
raid at his home.

He was fined £25 and ordered to pay £55 costs at the hearing at Manchester City Magistrates' Youth Court on Monday.

The teenager had been held in custody since he was arrested on Saturday."

Original story:

Here's what really gets me about the whole western paranoia about Muslim women wearing head coverings.

OK, what does that have to do with UK Tory leader David Cameron's idea that people should go out and "hug a hoodie" to show young gang members that they are loved?

Because if I had a choice between running into a hoodie or a burka-wearing woman in some dark alley , it's pretty evident which represents a greater threat.

During Thursday's visit, Mr Cameron - who was famously mocked for advocating a "hug a hoodie" approach to young offenders last year - criticised Labour's "top-down" approach to tackling gun crime.

He said: "We've got to get to the roots of crime. That means families and communities.

A hooded teenager pictured making a gun gesture behind David Cameron proves the Tory leader's point about "anti-social behaviour", his spokesman said.

The photo has been splashed on front pages, with the Daily Mail saying: "Do you still want to hug a hoodie, Dave?"

But Mr Cameron's spokesman said the picture "perfectly illustrates the problems David was talking about".

The youth, 17-year-old Ryan Florence, is electronically tagged after being in a young offenders' institution.

I've never hugged a hoodie, but interesting story.

It was and still is in some places a fashion of youth, but also useful
for covering the face and head.

I second, with addendum, Victoria's point. I have never been a hoodie hugger, and do not intend to start. And I too, know which style I'd rather be looking at in a dark alley.
