Hundreds protest Malaysian police`s brutality

Pontianak, West Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - Hundreds of people staged a
rally outside the Malaysian consulate in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, on
Wednesday, demanding that the neighboring country offer an apology for
its police`s brutality against an Indonesian karate referee last week.

The demonstrators, who were mostly members the Pemuda Pancasila Youth
Movement, the National Defense Forces Youth Communication Forum, the
Pemuda Panca Marga Youth Association and the West Kalimantan chapter of
the Indonesian karate association arrived at the consulate on Jl Sutan
Syahrir at around 10.00 a.m.
