Hundreds line up to not buy a plastic bag
NEW YORK CITY, July 18th - Hundreds of eager people from as far away as Osaka, Japan lined up in front of Whole Foods market today to buy famed UK designer Anya Hindmarch's 'im not a plastic bag' bag. A few people on the line today had been waiting in front of the store around twenty four hours in order to guarantee thier bag. Anya's bag was designed to encourage people to use less plastic bags and encourage sustanibility. The designer made the bag in cooperation with 'we are what we do' and acvitist organization geared towards inspiring people to use everyday actions to change the world.
Judging from the reaction to her bags in new york city alone that just might be what's happening. The bags at the 14th street Whole Foods location sold out on all 2,700 bags in 2-3 hours dwarfed by the columbus circle location which sold all its bags in 45 minutes.
