Susan Pynchon, with the Florida Fair Elections Coalition, says the software flaw could be partially responsible for a high under-vote rate in the race, despite county officials' statements to the contrary. "It's clear that something happened with those machines," Pynchon says.
More evidence (thanks, Wired!) showing that bugs in e-voting in Florida occur regularly and that the voting officials ignore them. I would harp on this if I was a Florida blogger, but you have to figure out how to get into the communities and get voters to pay attention to officials who can't or won't straighten out e-voting and VOTE them out of office.
Gee, since the officials can determine who wins or loses, how do you vote them out of office? In the pre-Gonzalez days when our Attorney General worked for the people, you could go for Federal intervention. These days, who knows what to do.

Maybe instead of Gonzalez you could get Janet Reno to come out of retirement and do to the election officials what she did to 100 people in Waco - kill them. In the Jennings situation it has been pretty well documented that stupidity was the main problem for some voters.
