India is safe from tsunami
A two metre high wave crashed on to the Indonesian island of Java today causing extensive damage to property. Residents have fled to a local hill to escape the tsunami, reports CNBC-TV18.
A warning had been issued earlier after an earthquake struck off the coast of Indonesia. The quake, measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale caused tall buildings to sway in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta and one other city on Java island for around two minutes.
