"Indonesia has sent a technical team to Beijing on September 5-6 and both sides have agreed to establish a working group to handle product and food safety," Indonesian Trade Minister Mari E Pangestu said here on Saturday after attending a series of activities of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.

The working group will exchange information on product and food safety standards of both countries and how to handle it if later a problem would appear with regard to their food and products.

The minister said that the working group is now being formed and would be officially inaugurated by both countries with the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

"On September 25, my Chinese counterpart and I will attend a joint commission`s meeting in Shanghai, China, to finalize the establishment of the working group," she said.
