NP Rank:
Injunction Threatened Over Cleveland Forest Sale by North Van School District
Local business man Ken Honberg says he'll seek the court's help to stop the North Vancouver School District from trying to sell the Cleveland Forest.
The forest is a wooded area next to Cleveland Elementary School that the board is considering selling in order to find money for capital projects.
In a blog posting on ClevelandForest.ca , Honberg says:
Should NVSD 44 be successful in its effort to obtain the authority to sell off this land, I will initiate an action in Supreme Court to obtain an injunction to prevent the sale of the land. I also intend to proceed with an action to recover losses my son (and many other children) will experience if this sale proceeds.

Despite overwhelming public opinion against the sale of the Cleveland Forest, as documented by a consultant's report, the board is moving forward with the first steps necessary to make it possible for them to sell the land.
The consulting report is posted here. (10 meg pdf)
