iPhones sold out at most Apple stores

This according to Apple's website pre-visit information; for example 90% of stores in California are sold out, and both New York city stores, the 5th avenue and the Soho stores are now out of stock as of yesterday evening 9:00pm. AT&T has not provided new information about stocks on hand, though a spokesperson did say that they were nearly out of stock two days ago.

iPhones are sold exclusively at Apple stores, online or through AT&T. The consensus is that the iPhone is more than just a sensor phone, much like the iPod was more than just another music player; the key differential was (and is) user oriented integration of new features and technology. Artificial deficit, anyone's guess!
