Iranian Girl, 20, Faces Death Penalty
Delara Darabi, a 20 year old Iranian artist is to be executed for a murder that was committed when she was 17.
The details of the case seem complicated, she originally confessed to the murder to protect her boyfriend, as they had thought that she would not get maximum punishment for the crime, being younger than 18 at the time of the incident. Read more details on the myspace page, or Amnesty International's press release.

More information and a petition against the execution of child offender Delara Darabi is here.
Ms. Darabi is one of 28 child offenders on death row in Iran. In 2006, only Iran and Pakistan executed child offenders. Iran signed the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), pledging to not execute child offenders, people who commit their crime when they were under 18.
