Iraqi Journalists who read NowPublic: what is this?

A bit of a mystery that needs to be cleared up.

This headline showed up in my RSS news reader: "More U.S. Military Assaults on Media".

Strangely, the link to the article goes nowhere; as if it had been purposely removed.  Was there an attack by US forces on the Baghdad offices of the Iraq
Syndicate of Journalists (ISJ), as is claimed in the following press release?

GENEVA,
February 21 (PEC) — The Press Emblem Campaign (PEC) condemned strongly
Wednesday the storming by US forces of the Baghdad offices of the Iraq
Syndicate of Journalists (ISJ), a PEC founding member.

According to information received by the PEC from the ISJ, the US
forces, when attacking Monday evening the ISJ headquarters, destroyed
furniture and arrested state-employed security guards, and confiscated
10 computers and other material.

Recalling the unanimous adoption of security-council resolution
number 1738 condemning attacks on journalists, the PEC reminds all
parties to the conflict in Iraq and US forces that the US government
has endorsed this important resolution.

The PEC, which is shocked at this attack which passed uncovered by
satellite major TV stations, reminds the US, that the resolution states
that media equipment and installations constitute civilian objects, and
in this respect shall not be the object of attack or of reprisals,
unless they are military objectives.

This unwarranted attack on the headquarters of the Iraqi syndicate
of journalists urges member states and the media community to unite
towards taking serious steps for a new convention to protect media and
their installations in war zones and other dangerous situations.

The Iraqi syndicate of journalists has requested from the Iraqi
government a quick inquiry into the attack of Monday, and the PEC
supports their call.

But I did find a press release and this website, which is apparently sponsored by the Peace Brigades International:

The website www.protectionline.org was elaborated through the interaction with Asian, American and African human rights defenders, the PBI field experience during 25 years and the effort of hundreds of volunteers who are working in the field and in the departments of PBI all over the world.

This site will try to ensure the interchange of experience and information between human rights defenders, and will mainly try to provoke effort and solitary action of as many social actors as possible, who stand up for them who protect the defenders of the abuses of power.

Iraqi Syndicate of Journalists attack

There is a growing belief in Iraq that U.S. allies in the current Iraqi government are leading the U.S. military to raid places and people who do not follow Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's directions.

"It is our Iraqi colleagues who pushed the Americans to that hole," Fadhil Abbas, an Iraqi television producer told IPS. "Some journalists who failed to fake the truth here are trying hard to silence truth seekers by providing false information to the U.S. military in order to take advantage of their stupidity in handling the whole Iraqi issue."

The incident occurred just two days after the Iraqi Union covering journalists received formal recognition from the government. The new status allowed the Syndicate access to its previously blocked bank account, and it had just purchased new computers and satellite equipment.

Some of that equipment was confiscated, according to the story.

"Just at the point when the Syndicate achieves formal recognition for its work as an independent body of professionals, the American military carries out a brutal and unprovoked assault," International Federation of Journalists General Secretary Aidan White said in a statement. "Anyone working for media that does not endorse U.S. policy and actions could now be at risk."

This seems to be source of that quote: http://www.ifex.org/en/content/view/full/81189

The International Federation of Journalists website. but I can't seem to get access to interior stories.
