I was just commenting about November 22nd, forty-three years ago.

It was just after lunchtime when the Principal came on over the intercom, and in a very somber voice (not the same somber voice that was familiar to those of us who just had to know if the Principal really did have an electric paddle), asked for our attention, and made the following announcement.

"€œWe will be dismissing school early today. Teachers, I want you to report to the auditorium for a very brief Faculty meeting. Then, I want you all to go home and pray for our country."€

That was it. She didn'€™t say so, but we knew something unusual had happened. She then led us in The Lord'€™s Prayer, and we were dismissed. About halfway on my walk home, one of the neighbor kids runs outside of his house and yells, "€œHey Nuke! '€˜Ja hear the news? Kennedy'€™s been shot!"€

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we
shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any
friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success
of liberty. link

Special thanks and welcome aboard to NP members timlovesbrian, and R.A. Stemler for granting permission to use their Dallas photos ..
