It's Silly Faces Week every week for some of us!

The project I'm undergoing is fast becoming a legend of the internet. The project, not my attempts, that is. Over 4,000 people are now signed up and either participating or watching the 365 days project. I think of it more as a challenge to myself. Each day to take a better photo than the day before. It's not always possible. The basic aim of the project is to take a self portrait every day for 365 days.

There's every type of person taking part, and that's part of what makes it wonderful. We all have this strange task to complete, and it's difficult to understand why that forms a bond, but it does. Today I reach day 223, and it's not been easy so far, but it's about to get a lot harder. All others who have taken part and either dropped out or are still strong 200 days in to it are all aware of how life can get in the way. I shall be going away for almost a month on a tour of the UK; and I hope that nothing terrible happens to my camera, or to me, that means I wont stay faithful to the project; at the same time I almost hope that I'm having such a wonderful time that I forget everything.

I digress; looking back at my progress so far, it's rather astonishing. However not everyone has had the same journey. In a year, it's unlikely that nothing sad will happen, and I've seen some very good long running contenders drop out because of somethingbad happening. I've been through the bad times, and I'm pleased that I took my camera along for the ride with me. I hate my face crying, it's offensive, but I shared that with the group, and the internet. It's not the same as crying in front of someone else, it becomes art.

TopUpTheTea, not only is this fun stuff, but it's also good stuff.

The fotos people are contributing say a lot about our culture. There's a spirit of playfulness here which is rewarding.

your story I went out and Crowd-sourced it, and not only are there lots
of interesting fotos coming in, but the person who created this mania
has now also posted a story! So many thanks to your friend Marge, and her son Dwayne for kicking this off at NowPublic. Very cool!

Good stuff! I am a 365er myself and it has been a wonderful experience. Some days are good photo ops and others are not. After a few days you realize just how very personal the project is -not just for yourself, but everyone involved. As I explained it today -the group is full of warm fuzzies!!

I have misseed a few days, but I am still trucking along. Today is day 127 for me, almost halfway... :)
