For the White Stripes (quite literal) cross-Canada tour, which includes stops in Nunavut and all of the Atlantic provinces, they've used some creative methods to book opening acts. And none gets more creative than this: booking your cousin. Especially if your cousin is world-famous fiddler and Ashley MacIsaac, who will open for the Stripes at their Glace Bay, NS show. Is it too punny to end this with "It's all relative"? Oh, and PS: Canada is totally ready to reclaim Jack White and his Nova Scotian roots. Really. We don't mind.

White Stripes frontman Jack White is a distant cousin of MacIsaac's, as well as fellow Cape Breton fiddlers Natalie MacMaster and Buddy MacMaster.

"As they say in Cape Breton, (we're) third and fourth cousins," MacIsaac said of his connection to White, who was born in Detroit. "Third cousin, once removed, I think they call it. It's on my dad's side."
