About Me

I started hunting in 1980 when I bought my first rifle. a converted .303 Lee Enfield. Back then, the Industry allowed for just about anyone to be called a hunter and game permits could be easily obtained, not to mention the purchase and licensing of hunting rifles. I mainly hunted in the Karoo where the wide sparce open spaces really challenged the shooter and as such ,have developed a special affinity towards the Karoo. In 1999, myself and 34 others,started the Centurion branch of the SA Hunting and Game Conservation and I was elected and served for three years as the Founder Branch Chairman. The membership grew to an astounding 1000+ members in three years, and I was awarded an SAHGA Presidential Award upon my stepping down as Chairman in 2002.
