UPDATE: Jeremy's father and the parents of his fiancee have posted memorials to NowPublic. I want to thank them for sharing their thoughts about Jeremy and hope that writing their words here has helped them cope, or at least find a bit of peace. My thoughts are with them.
If you knew Jeremy Herbstritt, please add your thoughts as comments. We would very much appreciate it if you are interested in editing this story - especially if you knew Jeremy. Please contact me.

My name is John, and I am from the Chigagoland area. I just read Jeremy's dad's quote "The rest of our life is going to be to celebrate his life" and it struck home for me. Ever since my old brother died at the age of 23 on December 26th, 2005, I have been living in his death. After some intense therapy, I have only now begun to be able to say his name outloud. Jeremy's dad's has the right idea. Keep fighting to get his story, pictures, and name in the media. I am sick of seeing the disturbing videos and photos of Cho Seung-Hui. The focus needs to be on Jeremy and the other victims. Do not live in Jeremy's death. Celebrate his life as his dad said he will do.
