All passengers on board a China Airlines Boeing 737 have escaped after the aircraft caught fire at Okinawa airport in Japan, airline officials say, although it is not clear if all of the crew are also safe.
The jet belonging to the Taiwan-based airline burst into flames shortly after landing at Naha airport on Okinawa on Monday morning.
Japanese transport ministry officials and an airline spokesman said all the 155 passengers on board had been safely evacuated.
However, it was unclear whether all of the six member crew had been accounted for.
"There is still a possibility that some crew were left behind and we are checking," a transport ministry official told Reuters.
TV pictures showed firefighters pouring fire-suppressing foam onto the largely burned-out fuselage, with thick smoke billowing into the sky......
