Media attention to this type of criminal activity only makes it more probable that more of the same will come.

I could not agree more... but there is a usefulness to the post and it is that good folks, such as you are, would raise exactly the kind of point you have made. Hopefully, enough public outcry would stop news hounds from trying to search out the said video with the insane intent of airing it to the global community.
