Jilted Former Deputy Frames Teen in Bomb Plot
This would make a great Veronica Mars episode:a teen is accused of planning a vicious attack on his high school. He protests his innocence, but his classmates turn against him. Turns out that a former sheriff's deputy, having been rejected by the teen's mom, set the teen up as revenge. Sometimes life is stranger than fiction. In this case, though, the cops sorted it out without the help of a teen private investigator, but the damage to the teen, and to his family, is all too real.
A Central Florida teen arrested on suspicion he was planning a Virginia Tech-style attack with pipe bombs was set up by a former reserve sheriff's deputy who was recently rejected by his mother, according to investigators.Scotty Davis, 18, was held by deputies on May 11 after officers found two pipe bombs at his home.
However, during the investigation, several pipe bomb tips and a bomb threat at Davis' school, Pace-Brantley Hall School, led officers to former Seminole County reserve deputy Kenneth Reeves, the report said.

Reeves was then taken into custody and charged.
"(Officers) say (Reeves) framed Scotty Davis and his family because of jealously after being rejected by Davis' mother," Local 6's Chris Trenkmann said.
Reeves is accused of planting explosives and misleading authorities into going after the teen, Local 6 reported.
Davis' father said the incident was a "brutal experience."
