John Roberts, Kiran Chetry In At CNN's `American Morning,' The 2 O'Briens Are Out

CNN is revamping "American Morning" for the second time in two years,
bringing in network newcomers John Roberts and Kiran Chetry to replace
anchors Soledad O'Brien and Miles O'Brien.
"American Morning"
has lagged in the ratings while the rest of the news channel's schedule
is up by double digits, CNN/U.S. President Jonathan Klein said in
announcing the changes Wednesday.
"We think we can do even
better and we think the show deserves to," Klein told a telephone news
conference. The "hard news" focus on "American Morning" will continue,
he said.

I was appalled this morning to hear John and Kiran talking about how the only vehicle they could get around with in the bad weather was an SUV. I have a Subaru Outback without snow tires and have been able to navigate in the winter weather of Westertn New York State for the last 10 years without any incidents. I would suggest that they get something other than an SUV and don't recommend that their viewers buy one, which is what it sounded like to me this morning. They may want to take driving lessons from someone who actually knows how to drive in the snow and on ice. Just because it is large doesn't mean that it is the only vehicle that will get around. Please encourage responsible car ownership and discourage the SUV craze that has taken over this country. Just because an SUV is a hybrid doesn't make it the vehicle of choice. The gas mileage is questionable and it just perpetuates the myth that an SUV is the only vehicle to drive.
