Jordan bans shawarma after poisoning cases

The Middle East is famous for many things, unfortunately most prominently for conflict. However, the street food, whether it be falafal or schwarma is notorious too. Jordanian health officials, however, have had to pull beloved chicken schwarma from the streets in response to a recent case of salmonella.
Jordanian health authorities have banned the serving of chicken shawarma sandwiches in the kingdom's restaurants, after hundreds got Salmonella poisoning, the acting health minister said Monday.
