Julie Amaro: Pornographer or Victim of Malware?

The news has been quiet about Julie Amaro lately. She's the substitute teacher pilloried over the porn pop-ups on her classroom computer. The blogosphere has been very much abuzz, though: during the course of my day-job I get to peruse lots of online computer magazines, and I often come across this woman's name. Here, for example, as well as here. Most of these articles call for online support and email campaigns, which is great, but I am unconvinced that a school system and judge who do not understand the relevance of anti-spyware and malware/virus protection have been checking their email or even using the Web for quite some time...

Thank you for calling attention to this; it's very interesting to consider the "fitness" of certain judges when it comes to certain cases...we would not want a judge who did not understand the concept of "murder" trying a murder trial, so why should a judge who doesn't get (if that is the case) how spyware works trying a spyware case?
