A bidding war has erupted over Keith Richards'
forthcoming autobiography. Several publishing companies have offered
The Rolling Stones guitarist an advance of $7.3 million for a chance to
publish the memoirs. As of yesterday (July 26), the New York Post
reported the bidding had been narrowed down to HarperCollins, a unit of
News Corp., and Little Brown, a division of Hachette Filipacchi.
There is no word yet on which publishing house has won the bid to publish the autobiography.
