Killing whales in Southern CA: U.S. Navy uses lethal sonar
Last week in Long Beach the CA Coastal Commission, by a vote of 8 to 1,
agreed to approve two years of proposed U.S. Naval exercises off of
Southern California only if the U.S. Navy implements mitigation
measures to protect marine mammals from the potentially lethal effects
of mid-frequency sonar. Gray whales, humpbacks, blue whales, dolphins,
porpoises and other sensitive species off the coast of California are
at risk. According to the NRDC, âIn 2004, the worldâs leading whale
biologists examined the link between navy sonar and whale strandings
and concluded that the evidence of sonar causation is âvery convincingâ
and âoverwhelming.ââ Whales from all over the world have been found
dead or dying following exposure to mid-frequency sonar.

This is yet another demonstration how our natural World is being destroyed and it is time for the World population to demand better from those disinclined to give more than a passing thought to our natural heritage.
Mankind can't live on a destroyed planet and nations hell bent on protecting their countries from invasion using such technologies could ultimately end up losing the bigger battle - to keep our planet habitable.
Methinks that often mankind seems to have a death wish. Mother Nature is so forgiving but she is being so sorely tested!
