LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The city council in the largest city of one of the nation's top tobacco-producing states voted Thursday to extend its smoking ban to cover almost all public buildings. The only exceptions when the law takes effect next July will be Churchill Downs — home of the Kentucky Derby — and tobacco manufacturing and warehouse facilities, The Courier-Journal reported on its Web site.
