January 15th was "La Ba" Holiday, a Chinese Buddhist holiday celebrating the Buddha's day of enlightenment. One of the temples in Nanjing gave out tens of thousands (at least!) of bowls of special porridge. Lots of people came and stood in line despite the cold and snow.
