CCTV cameras will be mounted on lampposts in a major drive against arson attacks.

The portable cameras will be used to watch schools in areas identified as arson "hot spots".

They will be clamped round the bottom of lampposts and then sent to the top to film the surrounding area.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service has identified school arson attacks as a top priority and will use the cameras as a deterrent and to gather evidence for court cases. ''The cameras are widely used by Northamptonshire County Council from road congestion to Sensitive crime hot spots. They are a great way of collecting important data''. Liam
