About 2,000 anti-Putin demonstrators, led by former world chess champion Garry Kasparov, defied an official ban from the Kremlin and gathered at Pushkin Square in the centre of Moscow. The Kremlins response was to send 9,000 truncheon wielding anti-riot police to stop the protestors from marching through the city.

mosdave, you've convinced me you've done the work - it's authentic. Thanks for being NP's eyes and ears on the streets of Moscow.
I also think that you've been fair and thorough. I didn't get the sense that you were hiding your biases, or passing off other's work as your own. Or worse -- getting paid by those you cover -- so it's transparent and independent. I also think you deserve praise for being an eyewitness, and for your investigative efforts. Good stuff.

Hi Jordan
Thanks for the comments. Yeah, its definitely my work...pretty eventful day. Actually it was my first experience at street journalism besides the Politkovskaya rally I covered last year. This rally was very intense, a lot of people were arrested and beaten including journalists so I was super alert and constantly on guard.
I'm glad you mentioned the objectiveness of the story and photos. This is exactly what I was trying to convey.
Thanks again.

Wow.
It doesn't get much better than this in our neighborhood. Mosdave - where's your tip jar now that I want to make it ring?
