State of the union
January 28, 2007 washingtontimes.com book review. Stephanie Deutsch writes: "Further, Dr. Laura claims that it was having her son, Deryk (Schlessinger), that 'cured me from feminism.' Rather than resenting domesticity, she came to see it as 'the power to set the tone for the whole family experience . . . Houses become homes when women make them so." Women, she writes, should "stop denigrating their roles as homemakers.' " .........................

COMMENT: If you like pathetic style, inferior edit and reworked material from an old book pimp, this is for you, The Proper Care and Feeding of Marriage. Stephanie Deutsch said "You can criticize Dr. Laura, and many do, for her abrasive manner, for her traditional biases, and for oversimplifying problems, but you cannot say she doesn't have something serious and worth considering to say." .... Are Americans so inept they need to be told in a sloppy product by hideous scoldy to be nice? Do they think these things have not been said ? The Schlessinger/Bishop word business employs something like 14 people to produce product. Not one person can produce anything decent? They are all idiots who excuse their lack of professionalism with the old, but it's good advice? (often material is usually taken from others and reworked.Conservative writer Burt Prelutsky tells of his experience: 7/1/05 www.burtprelutsky.com) Their strong point is in promotion (making money) and now using the global outreach. Where is any evidence she is about helping people first? Her whole history defies that and glares "ME!ME!ME!". As much as her old age is trying to rewrite facts, she's a failure on truth and quality...........................................................

Another example: Australia's Samantha Brett, of Sam and the City in The Sydney Harold Morning Blog (and repeated in other Australian blogs) on January 17, 2007 writes "Psychologist and radio personality Dr Laura Schlessinger backs up the stats. She cites 'shacking up with your honey' as one ...." Schlessinger will claim she has dealt with the sham that she is a "psychologist". It benefits her image when her global PR firm is sloppy here, and does not notify for a correction. Schlessinger never had a Ph.D. in behavioral sciences. She misuses the title and benefits from this oversight because something like 98% of her radio act listeners believe she is a credible behavioral science Dr. The dictionary has several ways to define QUACK, in one example # "3. being a quack: a quack psychologist who complicates everyone's problems." is most fitting. Quack is the nicest term used in her town of residence. More people refer to her as charlatan or fraud. It can be said she is a quack and what she does is a radio act. In her global quest we hope people are smart and do more research. DO THE RIGHT THING. Don't hesitate to contact newspapers and bloggers who are taken in by the "psychologist" shams. The advertisers need to know what the public wants...... Susan Paterno in the American Journalist Review wrote "I received a call from Mike Paul, who described himself as 'Dr. Laura's global PR consultant.' He said Schlessinger is 'a global brand, and she gets media opportunities all the time.If you don't provide the questions, then we can't help you.' A few hours later, he followed up with another e-mail: "Let me be more clear: Dr. Laura and her team have decided to not participate at all with your story." Mike Paul, 'Dr. Laura's global PR consultant' is the person to contact about global promotional matters............................................................

The book appears to be more ideals, not what was practiced overtime. The example is not what the Dr. Laura brand nags and preaches. It maybe more that she wants to instruct her son's fiancé, 19 year old Megan Nicole Moldovan, to not repeat the failures of her elder? (It's a little late, if you've seen the recent photos) Before Britney Spears there was the beaver shot that shocked talk radio and the female leader of rude and mean denigrating talk (toward mostly women). The so-called Dr. Laura is more like a female Howard(shock)Stern, but not honest or bright enough. The ladies at the Coral Casino sum it up, "uncouth". Why else throw together a sloppy lackluster book, TPCAFOM on marriage, plus a new PR sparkle, if not for son's fiancé, Megs? The product is not improved or new. It is well timed for the to-be-married young lovers. "Do What I Say, Not What I Do"
