Wow, this is seriously impressive. I went as a ballerina for Halloween once and couldn't do a demi-grand rond de jambe to save my life.
LONDON - An 88-year-old Briton is perfecting his pirouettes in preparation for his debut as a ballet dancer in Prokofiev's "The Stone Flower."John Lowe, a grandfather of 11, began ballet dancing nine years ago after his daughter became a professional dancer.
Now he is scheduled to perform Sunday at The Maltings theatre in Ely, about 120 kilometres north of London.
According to Lowe there is nothing effeminate about ballet dancing.
He says a person has to be incredibly fit to do ballet and that personally, it gives him a wonderful feeling.
Lowe adds that he always wanted to dance and that it's never too late to learn.

Rob Peters, I like this story. It's good stuff. It's great to see older folk showing their energy and talent.
